W/P Football boosts record to 3-0 with win

    W/P Football Team made the long trek to Flagler Co. Friday and came home with a 48-16 victory over the Panthers of Flagler.
    The W/P Broncos had their way on the ground, racking up 365 yards and eight rushing touchdowns, while holding Flagler to 91 yards rushing and 95 passing yards.
    The Panthers got on the board first with a 35 yard touchdown run. The two point conversion was good and the Panthers had an 8-0 lead.However, they wouldn’t score again until late in the fourth quarter.
    The Broncos answered back with three first quarter touchdown runs. Kreyton Wiese scored on a 56 yard run, followed by Casey Walker with touchdown runs of 47 and five yards. The Broncos failed on all of their extra point kicks and two point conversions on the night, but led 8-18 at the end of the first quarter.
    The second quarter was a defensive battle. Walker had the only score of the second quarter with a one yard run, giving the Broncos a 8-24 lead at the half.
    The Broncos put the nail in the coffin in the third quarter.  Walker scored his fourth touchdown of the night with a 44 yard run. Kameran McCrumb added three more touchdown runs of 12, 13 and three yards, to give the Broncos a 8-48 lead.
    The Panthers added a three yard touchdown run in the fourth and were successful on the two-point conversion, bringing thew final score to 16-48 in favor of the Broncos.
    The Broncos have an off week Friday Sept. 19 and will welcome the Paxton Tigers to town on Sept. 26.
