W/P falls to Med. Valley in close game

It was a score-fest Friday night when Medicine Valley traveled to Wauneta for the final regular season game of the year. In a game that was dominated by the offense on both sides and tallying over 100 points, the Broncos came up two points short, losing a close 51-53 battle.
Both teams scored eight touchdowns but Medicine Valley converted on two more extra points than the Broncos did.
The first quarter had seven scores, starting with the Medicine Valley Raiders scoring on a 14 yard pass. the kick was good and the Raiders led 0-7.
The Broncos bounced right back, scoring on a 37 yard pass from Nathan Hiett to Wyatt Hilbert. The two point conversion failed and the Broncos trailed 6-7.
After holding the Raiders, Hiett hit Hilbert again for a 25 yard touchdown pass. Once again the two point conversion failed, leaving the score 12-7.
The Raiders scored on their next two possessions, the first on a 24 yard pass with a two point conversion and a 59 yard run and extra point kick to lead 12-22.
Still in the first quarter, Kameran McCrumb scored on a one yard run, but his kick was no good. The Raiders answered that with a one yard score and missed their kick, leaving the score 18-28 at the end of the first quarter.
The only score of the second quarter was a Raider 50 yard run. The kick was no good and the Raiders led 18-34 at the half.
In the second half, the Broncos seemed to make better adjustments than the Raiders. McCrumb had the first score of the third quarter on a 41 yard run. The two point conversion was good, cutting the lead to eight.
Medicine Valley ran it in from 45 yards out and the extra point kick was good. McCrumb came back with a 44 yard touchdown but missed the extra point.
Medicine Valley scored next on a five yard pass, but they missed the extra point kick.
McCrumb finished the third quarter scoring on a one yard touchdown run. Wiese made the extra point and the score was 39-47 going into the final quarter.
The Broncos closed the gap to two points when Hiett hit Hilbert for a 49 yard touchdown pass. McCrumb’s kick was no good.
The Raiders ran one in from 36 yards but their two point conversion was no good, leaving the lead at eight.
Wiese caught a 30 yard touchdown pass from Hiett, late in the fourth, however the extra point kick failed, leaving the Broncos trailing by two.
Unfortunately, that is how the game ended, with the Broncos falling to the Raiders 51-53.
That put the Broncos into the playoff bracket as the 15 seed and they will face Red Cloud on Friday Night on the road. Red Cloud is undefeated on the year.
