Two tough opponents hand Lady Longhorns first losses

Sidney and Ogallala proved to be tough opponents last week, as they handed the Lady Longhorns a pair of varsity losses, marring their 2-0 record heading into week two of the season.
Offensive woes and the absence of experience at the post position hampered Chase County in Friday’s home game with Sidney and Saturday’s contest in Ogallala.
However, Coach Mark Bottom was happy with his team’s efforts both nights, and is hoping for a rematch with them both later in the season.
This week, the Lady Longhorns will come up against “another really good team,” Bottom said, when they travel to Wray, Colorado Friday.
“We played them in summer league. They’ll have good post play and are well coached,” Bottom said.
    “It’ll be a tough game.”
