Two top-seeded teams ousted first round at girls’ state tourney

    First round of the girls’ state high school basketball tournament didn’t go well for two area teams.
    Both North Platte St. Pat’s in Class D1 and Sidney in Class B were both ousted by the No. 8 seeded teams in their first round games last Thursday.
    Top-seeded St. Pat’s, 24-1, lost by a point, 55-54, to Elkhorn Valley, 23-4, while Sidney was eliminated by No. 8 Elkhorn South, 51-37, who came into the game with a 12-13 record.
