Thirty compete in Knights of Columbus free-throw contest
The Knights of Columbus free-throw contest was held at Chase County Schools Saturday.
Organizer Mark Spady said there were 30 participants.
“We ran it in conjunction with the youth basketball practice they’ve been doing so we had the numbers there already,” Spady said.
“In years past we’ve had 10-15 participants and we had twice that this year,” he said.
Medals were awarded to winners of each age category.
Winners in those categories include:
Boys 14—Easton Fries
Boys 13—Carson Terryberry
Boys 12—Haven Hauxwell
Boys 11—Tyce Hammerlun
Boys 10—Zak Anderson
Boys 9—Josh Kunkel
Girls 10—Cadence Lambert
Girls 9—Mia Fries
The district competition will be this Sunday in Wauneta, starting at 1 p.m.
After districts, winners will move on to regionals, followed by the state finals.
