Teams hope to get back on ‘track’ this week

This has been one of the worst weather seasons for the Longhorn track teams.
After days of forced indoor practices, weather again caused cancellation of one of the major meets Chase County attends each year—the Ogallala Invitational last Saturday.
The meet won’t be made up, which is disappointing to both head coaches. So far this season, the Longhorn teams have run at just one meet, the preseason quad held in Grant March 21.
“We really wanted to run against Cozad” at the Ogallala meet, said Girls’ Head Coach Troy Hauxwell.
He wanted to see how his sprinters, middle distance and distance runners matched up.
