Six Chase County players on all-conference teams

Chase County’s successful 2019-20 high school basketball seasons were reflected in this year’s SPVA All-Conference selections.

Six Chase County players are listed on the first and second teams on the boys’ and girls’ teams. An additional player made the boys’ honorable mention list.

A look at the girls’ first team shows three of the five selections are freshmen.

Coaches did their voting online this year, instead of meeting in person due to the coronavirus concerns.

Here are the 2019-20 all-conference teams and honorable mention players.

Girls’ selections 

First team—Mallie McNair,  senior, Bryn McNair, freshman, Chase County; Ruthie Loomis-Goltl, freshman, Bridgeport; Tonja Heirigs, freshman, Jocylin Sellers, senior, NP St. Pat’s.

Second team—Alexis Richmond, junior Chase County; Shayda Vaughn, sophomore, Tahlia Steinbeck, Freshman Hershey; Sydney Nein, junior, Bridgeport; Kate Stienike, sophomore, NP St. Pat’s.

Honorable mention—Mackenzie Liakos, freshman, Bridgeport; Varsha Huebbner, senior, Hershey; Sydney Biesecker, junior, Meghan Spicer, junior, Carli Wurdeman, senior, Kimball; Kinsey Skillstad, senior, NP St. Pat’s; Danielle Burge, junior, Hannah Kempf, junior, Perkins County; Faith Stewart, sophomore, Sutherland.
