Pender Post 55 wins Class C State Seniors Tourney

    This years Class C, Nebraska Legion Seniors Baseball State Tournament was held in Pender Ne. from Aug. 1-6.
    The host team from Pender won the championship. It took two games the final night, with Malcolm coming from the losers bracket to beat Pender 14-7 in the first game. Since that was the first loss for Pender, a second game was required.
    Pender came out of that game with a 12-0 victory and a State Championship.
    In the first round of games on August 1, the results were: Malcolm over PWG 17-5; Centura over CBW 4-3; Hartington over Ord 8-7; Pender over Chick-fil-A 9-6.
    Round two scores were: Malcolm over Centura 12-2; Pender over Hartington 12-6; PWG over CBW 6-5; Chick-fil-A over Ord 11-1.
    Round 3 scores: Pender over Malcolm 3-1; Centura over PWG 17-7; Hartington over Chick-fil-A 11-5.
    Round 4 scores: Pender over Centura 5-2; Malcolm over Hartington 2-1.
    Round 5 scores: Malcolm over Pender 14-7; Pender over Malcolm 12-0.
