Pee Wee 2 meets Wallace, Ogallala at season’s end

Imperial Pee Wee 2 hosted Wallace for a pair of baseball games last Wednesday, losing both in a pair of tight games.

Imperial stole 18 bases in the game with Traven Richardson leading the way with six.
Wallace came out strong in the first inning of the nightcap, scoring 10 runs, then posting four more in the second. Wallace was held scoreless in the third , but added another in the fourth to take the 15-8 win.
Imperial 2’s big inning was in the fourth, led off with a double from Jensen Olsen.  The team added six more in the fourth.
In their final regular season game Friday night, Imperial 2 and Ogallala 2 battled in a back-and-forth affair.
Imperial scored four in the first and held Ogallala to only two runs going into the third.          Ogallala got the bats going in the top of the third and scored five runs.
In another offensive surge, Imperial rallied late in the bottom of the fifth to tie the game 9-9, but Ogallala responded with four more in the top of the sixth to win the contest, 13-9.
“I’m really proud of the boys this year,” Imperial Head Coach Ryan Baker said.
“I know the boys have had their heads down a lot here lately. We rally, make it a ball game, but time has just not been on our side,” he said.
