Longhorns win Perkins County preseason quad

While team scores and medals weren’t given at Perkins County (PC) last week, it was obvious the boys performed well.
The Longhorns placed first in 11 out of the 17 events, while earning nine second-place marks and six third-place finishes.
“It kind of shows where our program is as far as depth and participation,” Head Coach Carl Zuege said.
“We had great weather,” he said. “It was a bit of an eye opener to see where they are and where they want to be.”
“I like the environment (of the PC meet),” he added.
“It’s laid back, unlimited entries; an opportunity just to go get your kids in some events and see what they can do.”
Juniors Trevor Peterson and Taylor Jablonski placed first and second in pole vault, respectively.
