Longhorns still looking for first win

After going 0-2 on the opening weekend, the schedule didn’t prove any kinder this week for the Longhorn boys’ basketball team.

They stuck with Class B Sidney for nearly three quarters Friday night. But a flurry of scoring by the Red Raiders at the close of that quarter put the Longhorns down by 14.

That proved to be a margin the Longhorns could not erase in the fourth, falling to the 3-1 Red Raiders 60-38.

On Saturday, the Longhorns traveled to face the Ogallala Indians.

Their scoring drought continued, putting up just 36 points to the Indians’ 54 to fall to 0-4.
