Longhorns second to Oberlin at Southwest Tourney

   In the last meet before districts in Valentine, Chase County traveled to Bartley Saturday for the Southwest Tournament. Chase County finished a strong second, just 11.5 points behind Oberlin, Kan. and 47 points in front of the hosts from Southwest.
    Bryson Fisher was voted outstanding wrestler after winning his final match with a tech-fall over state ranked Chase Becker of Southern Valley. Junior Eli Hinojosa recorded victory number 100 in his first match of the day, en-route to the 220 pound championship. Once again, Caleb Weiss, B. Fisher and Hinojosa took championships in the 145, 160 and 220 pound divisions, respectively. Each of the three had rematches with wrestlers they had met within the last eight days.
    Weiss (40-10) pinned his way to the finals where he came up against Jacob Mackley (40-13) of Hershey. The two had met for the championship  of the SPVA Tourney just four days before with Weiss winning a 7-3 decision. This time around Weiss improved and won a major decision victory with a 13-4 win.
