Longhorns go 3-1 into holiday tournament

The Longhorn basketball team came off last week with one win and one loss.
On Friday, the Longhorns traveled to Sidney, where they pulled off an easy 64-38 win.
On Saturday, they hosted Ogallala where, despite a hard-fought game, the Indians handed Chase County their first loss of the season, 59-67.

“Sidney’s had a tough couple of years here,” Longhorn Head Coach Chris Bartels said.
“Nonetheless, it’s a Class B school and it was a good win,” he added.”
Junior Cedric Maxwell reached a career game high of 21 points against Sidney.
“(Maxwell) really attacked and he played really smart,” Bartels said.
The Longhorns won every quarter against Sidney, leading at the half 30-18.
Also scoring against the Red Raiders for Chase County were Kobe Clevenger, Taylor Jablonski, Bennett Bauerle, Clay Meeske, Dylan Dreiling, Logan Jussel and Mason Nordhausen.
Maxwell also led on defensive rebounds, tacking up seven, as well as three steals.
Nordhausen led the team in steals with six.
Maxwell and Bauerle led on free throws, with Maxwell making 6-8 and Bauerle nailing 2-2.
