Longhorns advance to subdistrict final

The Longhorns took the win in the first game of subdistricts against Cozad Tuesday night, winning 59-38.
Chase County was seeded No. 1 in Class C1-11 and played No. 4 Cozad at Brady.
The win sends them to the subdistrict final tonight (Thursday) against No. 3 Gothenburg.
The Swedes are now 8-14 on the season, after upsetting No. 2 Hershey Tuesday night, 44-39.
The Longhorns were scheduled to play Gothenburg on Jan. 17 but games were canceled due to weather.
Thursday night’s game at Brady High School will tip off at 6 p.m. CT, with the winner advancing to the district final game.
The Longhorns, now 15-4, currently sit No. 5 in power points with 44.4737.
Chase County had a slow start against Cozad Tuesday, but picked it up in the second half. They outscored the Haymakers in the third quarter, 19-8.
Scoring against Cozad were Bennett Bauerle 20, Clay Meeske 13, Taylor Jablonski 9, Mason Nordhausen 9 and Kobe Clevenger 8.
