Longhorn wrestlers split opening season double dual at Oshkosh

Broken Bow Invite postponed; tourney has been reset for Dec. 21

Chase County wrestlers were on the mat for the first time this season last Thursday, competing in a double dual in Oshkosh.
The competition included a lot of forfeits, as wrestlers didn’t match up very well at the opener, said Chase County Coach Matt Vlasin.
Lopsided results could best describe those head-to-head matches that were held, he added.
Garden County has just six wrestlers out for the sport this season, while Bridgeport fielded 11, Vlasin noted.
Chase County came out with the win in the dual with Garden County, 48-30, winning seven of the matches by forfeit. Senior Evan Fisher won the only one of five head-to-head matches with Garden County, quickly pinning his opponent in 18 seconds.
