Longhorn tracksters in spotlight at Cambridge meet

Chase County track athletes earned a number of individual recognitions at Monday’s Cambridge Invitational. Above, left, Lucy Spady’s name will go on this traveling plaque after winning the 1600 in the girls’ division with a time of 5:49.28. At right, this trio of Chase County runners were named the meet’s Outstanding Athletes. Mallie McNair, left, and Adelaide Maxwell were named co-winners of the girls’ award after both collected four gold medals Monday. Kadin Vrbas, center, who won the 100, 200 and was part of Chase County’s gold medal 400m relay team, was named the boys’ Outstanding Athlete.
