Longhorn offense comes out against Wray

Senior Braden Space was again the top scorer for Chase County, leading the Longhorns to a 79-68 victory over the Wray, Colorado Eagles Friday night.
“Our offense finally started to play,” Chase County Head Coach Chris Bartels said.
The Longhorn defense has been strong so far this season, but their offense is starting to catch up.
The first quarter against the Eagles didn’t start out well, however.
“Cedric (Maxwell) and Scott  (Wheeler) both got two early fouls so they had to come out,” Bartels said.
Replacing them were Kobe Clevenger and Bennett Bauerle, playing most of the second quarter.
The Longhorns outscored the Eagles in the second quarter 24-13, with senior Parker Dillan scoring two 3-pointers and a pair of 2-pointers.
“(Dillan) kind of struggled the first couple weeks of games,” Bartels said. “You could tell he was frustrated with how he’s doing offensively. It was really nice to see him break out and play well.”
