Varsity and junior varsity golfers from Chase County stayed busy last week with two meets. On Tuesday, the varsity team traveled to Dundy County, and the junior varsity participated in the home meet at the Imperial County Club on Thursday. Much was to be celebrated for both teams due to them being awarded first as a team.
At the meet in Dundy County, all six golfers placed in the top ten. Winning the meet was Zak Anderson, and Gavin Wisneski followed right behind him in second. Coming in fifth was Tate Teply, Cole Pankonin in sixth, and Kadan Vogt in 8th. Harrison Foote won the award for first for junior varsity.
At the Imperial Country Club, the team walked away with two individual placers, Braxton Chubb and Aiden Tomkey. Chubb was given the awards of 2nd and 4th to Tomkey. Other competitors at the junior varsity meet were Oddessa Zadina, Cyanne Weiss, Bailey Cook, and Wyatt Krasnuck.
Looking forward, the varsity golfers have a meet at home on April 15th and another meet on the 17th located at Hershey. The junior varsity team will travel to Bridgeport on the 17th as well. All three meets are set to start at 9:00 am.
