Longhorn boys suffer loss to Cambridge

Even with a tough loss to Cambridge under their belts, Longhorn basketball Head Coach Chris Bartels said they’re not dwelling on last weekend’s loss.

“We’ve got to be able to get better from the mistakes that we made,” he said.

The Longhorns had a five-game winning streak followed by three days of practice before they traveled to play Cambridge on Saturday.

“Cambridge is playing really good basketball at the right time of the season,” Bartels said.

“We knew they were going to be tough,” he added.

The Longhorns lost to Cambridge, 56-52, taking their record to 15-4.

Both teams came out strong offensively, with fast-paced scoring in the first quarter.

“Both teams made some pretty tough shots in the first quarter,” he added.

Senior Braden Space led the scoring in the first quarter with three 3-pointers.

Senior Scott Wheeler and sophomore Cedric Maxwell also added to the 24-point first quarter.
