In Imperial Legion’s opener last Thursday, Jaret Peterson started on the mound for the juniors against Hershland, earning a no-hitter in the 14-0 win.
Legion teams finish 2-2 in opening games
The crack of the bat returned to life the past week as baseball games were given the green light amid state COVID-19 health directives.
Imperial’s junior and senior Legion teams opened play on the first day allowed, last Thursday, with a 2-0 finish for the juniors in Hershey.
Imperial returned to the field Sunday in Holdrege for a junior/senior double-header, when Holdrege picked up both wins on late scores.
Imperial has three games this week ahead of Sunday’s home opener at Campbell field.
The junior/senior double-header here Sunday with Cozad has a 12 noon start time for the junior game. The seniors will follow at 2:30 p.m.
Leading up to Sunday’s games at home are double-headers all on the road.
After playing Tuesday in Hershey against Overton, the teams travel to Ogallala today (Thursday) for junior/senior games starting at 4:30 p.m.
On Saturday, they’ll be in Broken Bow for a junior/senior double-header starting at 12 noon MT.
