Lady Longhorns Win Twilight Meet

Last Friday, the Chase County Girls’ track team traveled to Dundy County to compete at the Twilight Meet. Teams that participated were Chase County, Cheylin, Dundy County Stratton, Maywood-Hayes Center, Perkins County, and Wauneta-Palisade. With five other schools, the Lady Longhorns asserted dominance, winning by 136, with 256 points. Perkins County came in second with 117 points.
Chase County claimed 11 first-place finishes and many second-place finishes as well.
Up next for the Lady Longhorns is the B6 District Competition. This is the first year Chase County has been a part of the Class B competition. Other teams include: Alliance, Chadron, Cozad, Gering, Gothenburg, McCook, Ogallala, Scottsbluff, and Sidney. The meet will take place on Tuesday, May 13th. After the conclusion of the district competition, the qualifying competitors will travel to Omaha to take part in the State Competition on May 20th and 21st.
