Lady Longhorns secure top seed in SPVA Conference tourney

One of the goals set at Chase County’s first volleyball practice in August was to win the SPVA Conference Tournament.
Gaining the #1 seed in the tourney this Saturday will help the Lady Longhorns do just that.
Seedings were announced late last week for the annual seven-team tournament to be hosted in Grant at Perkins County High School.
Winning the tourney has been a big focus for the team, especially this week, said Coach Sam Kennedy.
Early this week, Chase County was on a nine-match winning streak.
They haven’t lost a match since Sept. 28 against 21-2 Broken Bow.
They’ve won the last 19 sets in a row and sported a 17-7 record Monday.
Kennedy attributes the recent streak to a team that’s been “clicking well lately.”
