A sweep at a triangular, a tournament third place and a loss to a top Class B team comprised a busy few days of Chase County volleyball last week.
It added up to a 4-2 finish for the week, and a 10-7 record overall as the Lady Longhorns enter another full week of matches, all on the road.
After traveling to a triangular in Gothenburg Tuesday, the team will be in Maxwell Friday for a varsity-only triangular that also includes Sutherland.
Matches in Maxwell get underway at 2 p.m. MT
On Monday, both the varsity and JV teams will be at Southwest for another triangular with matches beginning at 4 p.m. MT. North Platte St. Pat’s will also be there.
The busy week concludes next Thursday, Oct. 10, with JV and varsity matches at Perkins County in Grant.
Third place at Sutherland
Chase County defeated South Loup and Sutherland at Saturday’s Sutherland Tournament, but lost the semi-final round against the eventual champion, Broken Bow.
Chase County Coach Sam Kennedy said her team played really good volleyball in the opener against South Loup, winning 25-19 and 25-23.
“We clicked in the match. We stayed calm and collected throughout,” she said.
