Lady Longhorns get easy win at Sutherland; look to holiday tourney

UPDATE: Due to weather, the Sidney Holiday Tournament will be moved to Dec. 30 and 31

Chase County took an easy win at Sutherland Dec. 17, upping their record to 4-1 as they entered the moratorium and this weekend’s holiday tournament in Sidney.
After last week’s 48-13 win, Coach Randy Longoria was busy Friday preparing for their first holiday tourney game against Burns, Wyoming.
Burns was 2-2 last week. Longoria said he believes his team will have the edge, “but, I’m not taking anything for granted.”
“We’re going into the game as we do all our games—prepared and ready to play,” he said.
Chase County will face Burns in the opener Friday at 5:30 p.m. in the Sidney middle school.
On Saturday, Chase County will play either Mitchell or Crawford.
There is another four-team tournament scheduled in the high school gym.
A champion will be crowned in both gyms.
