JV girls open season with pair of wins

    Chase County’s JV girls picked up two wins in its opening season play last week, one on the road and one at home.
    Twenty-five points in the first half paid off for the Lady Longhorns at Cozad last Thursday, where they won a 38-32 game.
    Scoring for Chase County were Gisselle Acuna 16, Jerzee Milner 7, Ali McNair 6, Kora Weiss 5, Morgan Peterson 2 and Kambree Meeske 2.

    On the home court Friday, the Chase County JVs won a lopsided 49-10 game over Wauneta-Palisade.
    All JV players who suited up saw action against Wauneta-Palisade.
    Acuna and Peterson led the scoring with 9 apiece. Also on the board were Weiss 8, Liz Reeves 7, Lucy Spady 7, Milner 4, Hope Brosius 3 and K. Meeske 2.

Coming week’s action
    The team has back-to-back games again this weekend when they travel to Sidney Friday and host Ogallala Saturday.
    The JVs begin play at Sidney at 4 p.m. At home Saturday, the JV action starts at 4:30 p.m.
    On Tuesday, the JVs will travel to Sutherland for a 4:30 p.m. MT game, followed by varsity. That game will conclude the 2019 portion of the JV season.
