Juniors hosting area district tourney here starting Saturday

Imperial drops final regular season game after late Ogallala score

Imperial’s juniors won’t have to travel far for their district area tournament this summer.
In fact, Imperial’s Campbell field will play host to the baseball tournament set to start this Saturday.
Tournament coordinator Brad Moline was still confirming the bracket with state Legion officials early this week, but Imperial will be the No. 2 seed team behind top-seeded Alma.
Imperial is set to play No. 3 seed Overton
Saturday at 5:15 p.m. in their first round game.
The three-day tournament is double elimination with the winner advancing to the state tournament July 14-18.
Moline said a fourth team was scheduled to compete at districts here but dropped out of the tournament, creating problems with finalizing the tournament games.
Check the Imperial Republican website for the bracket later this week.
