Jeff Rusher inducted into Chadron State College Athletic Hall of Fame

Jeff Rusher of Imperial was inducted into the Chadron State College (CSC) Athletic Hall of Fame last weekend.
Rusher and his family attended the event in Chadron on Saturday. Rusher and other inductees were introduced during halftime of the CSC/Colorado School of Mines football game.
Rusher was inducted for football and wrestling.
He was a three-time state champion wrestler and one-time runner up at Wray High School in Colorado. He is also a member of the National High School Hall of Fame.
He began his football career at CSC as an ace on special teams and became a starting middle linebacker the next three years and finished his college football career with 203 tackles, including 144 that were unassisted and 17.5 for lost yardage.
In wrestling, Rusher was a two-time All-American at CSC.
He had an 82-35 record in the 197-pound weight class. He was 23-3 his junior year in 2003, when he was the West Regional champion and placed third at the NCAA Division II National Tournament.
Rusher won his first three matches at nationals as a senior, but suffered an ankle injury and lost twice the next day to finish sixth. He was 22-5 for the season.
He is only the third athlete ever inducted for two sports at CSC.
