Imperial Legion dominates in season opening wins

There’s nothing better than opening a season with a win.
That’s how it went for Imperial’s Legion teams, but they multiplied it by four, finishing their Memorial Day weekend’s openers at 4-0.
In a pair of double-headers Saturday and Sunday, Imperial beat teams from Sidney and Elwood/Eustis.
All four of Imperial’s wins were by nine runs or more.
Coach Bruce Peterson said pitching was a key to his team’s dominating wins.
“In every game, our pitchers got ahead in the count, threw strikes and didn’t waste pitches,” he said.
