Imperial included on Nebraska’s Husker Nation Tour next week
Athletic Director Bill Moos, Head Coach Scott Frost and members of the Nebraska football staff will be on a Husker Nation Tour next week presented by First National Bank.
Imperial is on the two-day, 26-town blitz that will take place on Monday and Tuesday.
While Frost and Athletic Director Moos won’t be here, Husker Assistant Coaches Erik Chinander and Frank Verducci will.
The two assistants will meet with the public Tuesday morning from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the new 4-H building on the fairgrounds.
Husker officials say the free event will give Nebraska fans a chance to meet the coaching staff as preparations continue for the 2018 football season.
Coach Chinander is Defensive Coordinator for the Huskers, the position he also held at University of Central Florida (UCF) before following Frost to Nebraska. Chinander has coached in three national title games and was a 2016 Broyles Award (nation’s top assistant) nominee.
Veteran coach Verducci is a Senior Offensive Analyst and in his first season on the Nebraska staff. He also followed Frost to Lincoln after serving as an offensive analyst in 2017 on Frost’s staff at UCF.
Prior to coming to Imperial, Chinander and Verducci will be in Ogallala Monday night from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Open Range Grill.
From here the pair will travel to McCook and then Lexington.
The statewide tour will kick off Monday with Frost, Moos and Associate A.D. for Football Matt Davison highlighting the upcoming football season during stops in Scottsbluff and Alliance. The trio will be at the Gering Civic Center for a mid-day event, followed by an early evening gathering at Newberry’s in Alliance.
Also on Tuesday, other Husker assistants will be in O’Neill, Aurora, Seward, Kearney, Hastings, Geneva, York, Norfolk, So. Sioux City, West Point, Blair, Wahoo, Fremont, David City, Beatrice, Falls City, Auburn and Plattsmouth.
