Imperial, Enders courses host Logan Bauman memorial golf tournament

For the second time in its 10-year history, the Logan Bauman Memorial Golf Tournament was hosted by the Imperial and Enders golf courses on Saturday, June 30 and Sunday, July 1.
    The tournament was last played on Chase County’s courses five years ago.
    The format of the tournament was a two-person scramble with a total of 58 teams participating.
    The field was split with half of the teams playing in Enders and the other half in Imperial. The teams played the opposite course the second day.
    The team of Jim Pirog and Russ Pankonin won the tournament by eight strokes, shooting 60 the first day in Imperial, following it up with a 64 at Enders Sunday.
    Second place was won by Eric McDaniel and Aaron Cyboron of Imperial with a 65-67=134. Craig Poppe of Imperial and Dru Jaeger of Kearney teamed up for third with a 69-65=134.

Flag prizes—(Saturday only) Mens’ long drive: James Liebhart at Imperial; Blake Holymeier at Enders. Womens’ long drive: Tara Welp, Imperial, Alex Mekelberg Enders. Closest to pin: Russ Pankonin, Imperial; Curtis Johnson, Enders. Long putt: Larry Kammerlohr, Imperial; Curtis Johnson, Enders.
Tournament back to Colorado
    Andy Bauman announced the tournament will return to the Pinery Country Club in Parker, Colorado, on June 24, 2019.
