Imperial 2 finishes third at tourney

The three Imperial PeeWee teams competed in the Tri-County League end-of-season tournament in Grant last week.
Imperial 1 and Imperial 3 both lost their first games, ending their run in the single elimination tournament.
Imperial 1 lost to Hershey, and Imperial 3 fell to Wallace.
Imperial 2 took home the third place trophy, with wins against Ogallala 2 and Hershey.
Ogallala 2
Imperial 2 played Ogallala 2 on July 10 for their first game, winning 7-2.
Leading at the plate for Imperial 2 were Camron Lempke with two hits and Thomas Reeves and Gavin Wisnieski, each with one hit.
Lempke and Camron Vogt led with runs scored, each having two.
Pitching in the game against Ogallala 2 were Reeves, Tristan Jablonski and Lempke.
Grant
Imperial 2 then played Grant on Friday, where they lost 4-7.
Lempke led the offense again, this time with three hits. Reeves had two, and Carson Terryberry tallied one.
Lempke and Jablonski pitched against Grant, with Lempke throwing 47-73 strikes, and Jablonski with 13-21.
Hershey
In the game for third and fourth places, Imperial 2 beat Hershey, 9-8.
Carson Terryberry led in hits with three. Lempke, Jablonski and Reeves each had one hit.
Jablonski, Lempke, Reeves and Gavin Wisnieski all got time on the mound in the consolation game.
Jablonski had 13-26 strikes, Reeves had 16-34 and Wisnieski had 16-28. Lempke had 19-22, giving him a strike percentage of 86%.
“I’m very pleased with how this group of kids play together as a team,” Head Coach  Jeff Lempke said. “Every kid had a role on the team and their knowledge and fundamentals strengthened throughout the year.”
