Imperial 2 drops to Ogallala, Grant
Imperial 2 fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 0-15 loss to Ogallala 1 last Wednesday.
Imperial 2 contained Ogallala to five runs through three innings then gave up 10 runs in the fourth inning.
Ogallala’s pitcher went four innings, allowing zero runs on zero hits and striking out five.
Tristan Jablonski was on the mound for Imperial 2. He allowed three hits and five runs, striking out one and walking 8.
Gavin Wisnieski entered the game as relief, allowing four hits, eight runs, striking out two and walking five.
Camron Lempke finished off giving up four hits and two runs.
Imperial 2 had some hits but Ogallala fielders kept runners off the bases.
On Friday, Imperial 2 had a 7-12 loss to Grant.
Grant took an early 2-0 lead in the first inning.
Imperial 2 put up six runs in the fourth inning to make the score 7-8.
Gavin Wisnieski and Westin Mendenhall powered the big inning with RBIs.
Imperial 2 collected three hits by Tristan Jablonski,Thomas Reeves and Gavin Wisnieski.
Kevin Fregoso lead the team, scoring twice.
Reeves pitched two innings, allowing two hits and five runs while striking out three and walking five.
Camron Lempke finished the game off on the mound pitching three innings, allowing seven hits and five runs while striking out five and walking two.
“The kids did a good job getting on base and scoring but we made some base running mistakes that cost us a few runs,” head coach Jeff Lempke said.
“As a young team we have to make plays to get outs and not beat ourselves,” he said.
Imperial 2 played an exhibition game against Imperial 1 Wednesday and will play at Ogallala 2 tomorrow (Friday).
