Good weather, good results for CCS track teams

It was a banner day for Longhorn track athletes as they easily won both the boys’ and girls divisions at their home meet in Imperial Tuesday. One of the special events at the meet each year is the awarding of the Bill McNair Memorial 800 Meter Medals, which go to those two event winners. Longhorn athletes winning those medals were Mallie McNair and Scott Wheeler, center, who are surrounded by several of Mallie’s sisters and cousins, from left, Ava, Ali, Aria, Landree and Bryn McNair. Taylor Jablonski was successful on this effort in the pole vault, where he finished fourth with an 11-foot vault.  Allison Owings is about to loft her 38’9” winning shot put toss, while Riley Owens nears Kora Weiss, below, for a 3200m relay handoff en route to the Lady Longhorn team’s gold medal finish. See next week’s issue for full results. (Johnson Publications photos)
