Girls sixth in SPVA B-Ball

The Lady Longhorns competed in the 2026 SPVA Tournament Jan. 20-24.
The Longhorns were seeded third in the East bracket and played the second seeded Valentine Badgers in the first round of the tournament. The Badgers took the lead early and never relinquished it, winning 32-49 over the Longhorns.
In the second round on Thursday, the Longhorns faced the fourth seed from the West, Kimball. Kimball fell to Bridgeport in the first round 41-70.
It was a low scoring battle on Thursday, but the Chase County girls out scored Kimball in every period of the game, winning 33-22, advancing to face the number two seed in the West, Perkins County.
Perkins County lost a close 45-48 game to Mitchell in the first round, before bouncing back to beat North Platte St Pats 47-20.
The Plainsmen jumped out to a 4-11 lead after the first quarter and the Longhorns couldn’t close the gap, losing the game 30-49 and finishing in sixth place.
