Former CCS volleyball coach, player picked for Coaches Association match

Former Chase County Coach and current Alma Head Coach Jodie Schuller will be one of the head coaches for this summer’s 37th Annual Nebraska Coaches Association volleyball match.
The game will be played Tuesday, July 21, at Lincoln North Star High School at 5 p.m. MT.
Another coach with ties to Chase County will be a coach on the other team. Jodi (Smith) Craig, Leyton Head Volleyball Coach and 1992 Wauneta High School graduate, has been named an assistant coach. She’ll be on the sidelines with Lincoln Christian’s Vikki Power, who was named the game’s other head coach.
Schuller’s assistant coach will be Christina Krajicek of Bellevue West.
Though teams have not been paired up, the chosen players have been announced. One of them is former Lady Longhorn Madison Schuller, a senior at Alma High School, and daughter of the head coach.

Meyer and Evans are future Huskers. One of Craig’s players, Watchorn, is committed to play at Concordia University. Skovsende has signed with Creighton.
NCA members may nominate senior student-athletes who are then evaluated by NCA coaches based on career and senior season statistics, all-star potential and attitude.
“Players selected will represent the best available student athletes in all parts of the state, as well as representing the sport and themselves in a positive manner,” the NCA says.
Coaches for the game were selected from nominations by head coaches, respective sports advisory committee members and at the NCA Multi-Sports Clinic. Records, career stats and longevity were considered in their selection.
The NCA receives support for all-star games from Nebraska Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic of Lincoln.
