Fisher, Peterson champions at Med Valley

Senior Evan Fisher and junior Trevor Peterson continued to improve their records this season with individual championships at the Medicine Valley meet last Friday.
Fisher improved to 35-4, winning his first three matches by pins to move to the championship match at 195.
There, he took Med Valley’s Austin Wolfe down to the mat in the first period. When Wolfe hit the mat, he suffered a shoulder injury and couldn’t continue, giving Fisher the win.
At 170, Peterson dominated the bracket and pinned his way through to claim first place and improve his record to 34-3
The Longhorns finished the meet in seventh place as a team.
Coach Matt Vlasin said the Longhorns got off to a rough start, dropping eight of their 10 opening matches, all by pins.
