In era of COVID-19, Chase County home contest guidelines are set

Everyone has been living in fluid situations and with changing rules the past five months due to COVID-19 concerns.
It’s no different for Activities Director Troy Hauxwell at Chase County Schools.
As the fall high school sports season kicks off this week with Chase County’s first home game today (Thursday), Hauxwell has put guidelines in place for fans.
The first use of those guidelines arrives today (Thursday) when the Lady Longhorn volleyball team has its season opener here against Ogallala in the Longhorn gym.
Most of Chase County’s guidelines have to do with practices most are getting used to involving masks and social distancing.
Chase County is not limiting numbers of fans at its home contests. In some Nebraska schools, administrators are not allowing any visiting fans.
He noted in Grand Island, for example, only four fans per family of a player are allowed to attend their home games. Fans from the visiting school are not allowed at all.
Hauxwell said the CCS guidelines established this week are subject to change.
