Eli Hinojosa succeeding on Chadron State wrestling team

In his first year as a redshirt freshman wrestler, Imperial native Eli Hinojosa is making strides on the Chadron State College wrestling team.
Hinojosa led the Eagles to a strong finish at the Rocky Mountain Collegiate Open in Golden, Colorado on Feb. 16.
Hinojosa took first place in the 285-pound division.
Hinojosa went 3-0 through the bracket, with one pin and two decisions.
“(Eli) wrestled extremely well and has shown tremendous growth as a wrestler this season,” Head Wrestling Coach Brett Hunter said. “I expect Eli to be a very big impact for our program the next three years as an Eagle, and I am very proud of him.”

285—Eli Hinojosa (Chadron State) pinned Aspen Naylor (Unattached), 5:40; won by decision over Michael True (Colorado School of Mines), 4-1; won by decision over Logan Church (Western Colorado University), 6-3.
