Cody Williams new NAIA leader in indoor heptathlon

Cody Williams continues his dominance in the indoor heptathlon after winning the event for Concordia University last weekend at the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) indoor track and field meet.
Finishing with 5,213 points in the seven-event competition more notably moved him into the No. 1 spot in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) standings.
Williams of Imperial, a Concordia sophomore, holds the national No. 1 spot by 72 points over Pieter Top of Westmont College in California.
In the heptathlon’s pole vault last weekend, Williams cleared 16’ 3/4” for a new personal best that gave him a commanding lead in the second day of the meet.
