Chase County girls qualify three for State Wrestling

    The CCS Longhorn Girls took five wrestlers to the Class B District 1 Tournament on Feb. 6-7. Three wrestlers qualified for the State Tournament in Omaha.
    Hayley Rusher was Champion at 145 pounds. Paige Owens finished second at 125 and Avery Cyboron finished fourth at 130. Zoey Kelley just missed punching her ticket in the 120 pound weight class, losing a decision to Lailah Jones of Broken Bow in the heartbreak round.
    Girls State Wrestling will be held at the CHI Health Center in Omaha on Tuesday and Wednesday, Feb. 17-18. Matches will begin Tuesday afternoon at 3:00 C.T./ 2:00 M.T.
    First matches have been set for the Tournament. Paige Owens, (36-4) will take on Hailey Hartl of Elkhorn Valley, (23-20).
    Avery Cyboron, (23-15) faces Madalyn Pistulka of West Holt, (42-7). Hayley Rusher, (46-1) will face Jenahcie Zautke of Madison, (14-12).
