Chase County Cross Country competes at DCS

    The Longhorn Cross Country Team traveled to Benkelman for the first meet of the year. The boys took the team win over Cambridge and Arapahoe, while the girls only had three of their varsity runners participate, leaving them without a team score.
    The boys had all five varsity runners place in the top seven of the meet. Haven Hauxwell waas the boys champion, followed by Bryce Mandeville in second, Brandon Chavira Sanchez in third, Spencer Kelley in fifth and Hayden Worth in seventh.
    For the girls, Addison Hauxwell from Chase County was the champion, with Liz Hanna finishing fourth and Ashlyn Heermann in sixth. Tessa and Alayna Smith did not run.
    The teams will travel to Cambridge Friday, Sept. 5.
