CCS wins DCS Twilight Track Meet

    The CCS Longhorn boys and girls took the championship at the Dundy County Stratton Twilight Track Meet on Friday, May 8 in Benkelman.
    In the boys division, the Longhorns won nine events and won seven in the girls. Tate Hubbard set a personal best, winning the Pole Vault with a vault of 15’ 1”. For the girls, Hayley Rusher won the Pole Vault with a personal best vault of 11’ 2”.
    Champions for the boys were; Austin Smith in the 100 and 200 meter dash, Krayton Paisley - 800 meter run, Lukas Fries - 110 meter hurdles, Noah Rau - discus, Tate Hubbard - Pole Vault, Adan Mireles - triple jump and the 4x400 relay team.
    Champions for the girls were: Kadence Wallin - 200 meter dash and long jump, Emily Randall - 800 meter run, Addison Hauxwell - 3200 meter run, Hayley Rusher - pole vault and the 4x400 and 4x800 relay teams.

Next action
    Up next for the Chase County Longhorns are the C9 Districts hosted by Perkins County on Thursday, May 14, with field events starting at 10:00 a.m. and running events beginning at 1:30 p.m.
    Admission for the District Meet will be $5 for adults and $4 for students.
    Teams joining Chase County are: Bridgeport, Gordon-Rushville, Hemingford, Hershey, Kimball, Mitchell, N.P. St. Pats, Ogallala and Perkins County.
