CCS Volleyball on the road this week

    The CCS Volleyball team traveled to Southwest for a triangular with N.P. St. Pats on Tuesday, Oct. 7 and to Grant on Thursday, Oct. 9, to take on the P.C. Plainsmen.
    In the Southwest Triangular, the Longhorns dominated both Southwest, (18-3), and St. Pats, (10-11), winning both matches in straight sets and nearly identical scores.
    The Longhorns beat N.P. St. Pats by scores of 25-14 and 25-12. In the match against the Southwest Roughriders, the Longhorns won by scores of 25-13 and 25-12. This was only the fourth loss of the season for Southwest.
    Thursday, Oct. 9, the Horns traveled to Grant to face the Plainsmen, (11-11). It was another clean sweep by the Longhorns, winning in straight sets, 25-11, 25-19 and 25-23. That brings the Longhorn record above 500 for the first time this year, (13-12).
    The Horns are riding a four game winning streak going into Thursday’s match with Bridgeport, (11-16). On Saturday, the Longhorns travel to Kimball for the SPVA Tournament which starts at 10:00 a.m.
