It was a good week for CCS volleyball, winning all four matches without dropping a single set. The girls beat Bridgeport on Thursday, Oct. 16, and then won all three matches in the SPVA Tournament held Saturday, Oct. 18, to become the 2025 SPVA Champions.
On Thursday, the Longhorns traveled to Bridgeport for a conference match-up with the Bulldogs. The Horns won in a clean sweep, 25-19, 25-10 and 25-16.
At the SPVA Tournament on Saturday, held in Kimball, the first match for the Longhorns would be against Bridgeport again. The results were the same with the Horns winning in straight sets 25-18 and 25-14. That advanced them to play North Platte St. Pats in the second round.
Once again the Longhorns won without dropping a set, with identical scores of 25-16 in both sets. That win propelled the Longhorns to the championship game to face Perkins County.
The Plainsmen advanced to the finals by defeating Kimball in the first round and Hershey in the semi-finals.
In the final match, Chase County won in two sets over the Plainsmen, 25-8 and 25-21 to take the title of 2025 SPVA Champions.
That brought the Longhorns record to 17-12 and the Horns are riding an eight game winning streak going into the final match of the season, a home game that featured parents night on Tuesday, Oct. 21.
Subdistricts will begin on Oct. 27, 28 and 29, with district finals played on Nov. 1.
