CCS Softball enters Sub-District play

    The CCS Softball Team entered Sub-District Tournament play. Games were scheduled for Monday, Oct. 6, but were postponed until Tuesday, Oct. 7 due to wet weather in Hastings. The #5 seeded Horns are scheduled to play #4 seed, Highway 91.
    The Horns hold a record of 1-19 while Highway 91’s record stands at 2-22. The winner of this game will face #1 seed, Hastings St. Cecelia, (21-6).
    Coming into the tournament, the Horns had a tough week, going 0-5.
    In a triangular on Sept. 30, the Horns lost to Southern Valley/Alma by a score of 0-12, and Kearney Catholic, 0-16..
    On Oct. 2, the Horns played a make-up game against Cozad, falling in two and a half innings by a score of 0-14.
    In the final games of regular season, the Horns traveled to Chadron for a triangular with Alliance. The Lady Horns finally got some offense going, leading Alliance after the first inning, 5-3. The bats shut down after the first inning and CCS fell in three and a half innings 5-16.
    In the final regular season game, the Horns fell to Chadron in three innings, 2-14.
