Noah Rau (far right) received the male Outstanding Athlete award from Coach Ed Moore’s son, Tim, Thursday at the Ed Moore Invitational in Ogallala. Shayden Rasby of Ogallala was selected as the female Outstanding Athlete. Noah broke his own State record in the discus, throwing, 205’ 7”. There was a delay in the throwing so they could verify the throw. Officials only had a 200’ tape so they had to round up a longer measuring device.

The CCS girls got off to a good start at the Ed Moore Invite on Thursday, April 2, in Ogallala. Fueled by three first place finishes, the girls beat second place Sidney by 37 points.
Riley Rusher took first in the 200 meter run. Addison Hauxwell won the 3200 meter run and the 4x100 meter relay team of Avery Beemer, Riley Rusher, Kadence Wallin and Hayley Rusher were champions.
The CCS boys took second place, 20.66 points behind the winning Cozad Haymaker’s. Noah Rau was the only male Longhorn to take first in an event, winning both the shot put and discus.
