CCS boys wrestling gets underway

    The CCS Longhorn Boys wrestling team had two meets over the past week.
    On Thursday, Dec. 4, the team traveled to Oshkosh for a triangular with Garden Co. and Bridgeport.
    In the first dual, the Longhorns won over Garden Co., 45-18, but fell to Bridgeport 24-45.
    In the Garden County dual, there were only four matches that took place, with Garden County winning three of them.
    In the 132 pound match, Tatum May found himself trailing Kadren Allen early in the match but came back strong in the third period to take a 9-5 decision win.
    Zariah Carman wrestled at 138 and lost by pinfall to Luke Gardner in 1:36.
    Jaqueb Hoover wrestled at 144 pounds against Cable Larsen. Larsen won the match, pinning Hoover in 2:23.
    Damon Spady wrestled against Jase Roberson at 175 pounds. Spady lost by pin at 1:31.
    In the 190 pound class, Eddie Rusher pinned Wyatt Seibel in 1:58.
    The Longhorns won six matches by forfeit due to open weights from Garden County.
    In the second dual against Bridgeport, the Longhorns weren’t able to win any of the head-to-head matches.
    At 150, J. Jeffords pinned Conner Einspahr in 3:19.
    At 157, I. Lehman pinned Derek Russell in 4:54
    Damon Spady was pinned in 5:18 by A. Ging in the 165 pound class.
    Eddie Rusher lost by pin to Q. Tretter in 0:40 at 175 pounds.
    In the last match, Parker Terryberry lost by major decision to R. Norman.
    On Saturday, the Horns traveled to Broken Bow for their invitational. The Longhorns finished fourth out of the nine team field.
    Destry Russell took first at 150 pounds, Dylan Miscles and Jaqueb Hoover both finished second at 106 and 138 respectively.
    The Longhorns had four fourth place finishers. Tatum May at 132, Conner Einspahr at 157, Damen Spady at 165 and Eddie Rusher at 175.
