CCS boys finish busy week with home win

The Chase County boys basketball team faced a challenging stretch last week, competing in three games against tough opponents. Despite opening the week with two losses, the Longhorns showed growth, finishing strong with a home victory on Saturday night.
The Longhorns began the week on Tuesday, February 3, hosting Ogallala. Chase County struggled to find a rhythm and fell 63–23. With the win, Ogallala remained undefeated, improving its record to 18-0.
Chase County responded on Friday, February 6, with a highly competitive game at North Platte St. Patrick’s. The Longhorns stayed within a close difference scoring-wise. Chase County came up just short by two points, falling 59–57.
The Longhorns ended the week on a high note Saturday night, welcoming Gering to their home court. Chase County secured a hard-fought 63–59 victory, closing the week on a positive note. After the completion of this past week’s games, the Longhorns’ updated record is 9-12.
Looking ahead, the Longhorns will host Hitchcock County in their next home contest. Junior Varsity will begin at 4:00 p.m., with varsity to follow at approximately 7:00 p.m. Following that game, Chase County will host Maywood–Hayes Center, with junior varsity tipping off at 4:00 p.m. and varsity beginning at 7:00 p.m.
