CCS boys basketball gets win

    After going 1-2 in the Chadron Holiday Tournament, the Longhorn Boys Basketball Team returned to action on Tuesday, Jan. 6, traveling to Benkelman.
    Dundy County/Stratton entered the game with a 7-1 record, while the Longhorns held a 3-6 record.
    The Horns started the game hot, jumping out to a 17-12 lead at the end of the first quarter. DCS came back in the second and tied the game at the half, 23-23.
    The Longhorns made the better halftime adjustments, dominating the second half, handing the Tigers their second loss of the year, 60-44.
    Zak Anderson was the leading scorer with 20, followed by Lukas Fries with 17.

    On Saturday, Jan. 10, the Horns traveled to face 8-1 Kimball. It was a very competitive game but the Horns came out on the wrong end of a 61-66 score, dropping the boys record to 4-7.
