CCS boys and girls are SPVA XC Champions

    Thursday, Oct. 8, the boys and girls SPVA Conference Cross Country Meet was held in Grant at Pheasant Run Golf Course.
    Both the boys and girls teams from Chase County won the Championship. The boys beat second place Hershey by 15 points, while the girls topped Perkins County by 10.
    In the girls race, Addison Hauxwell took first place, beating second place Madison Potts of Perkins County by over a minute. The Longhorns took four of the top five places and nine of the top 16.
    For the boys, Bryce Mandeville was the top runner, finishing fourth with Knox Paisley right behind in sixth. Brandon Chavira and Scott Kelley really improved their times, finishing 11th and 17th respectively.

    The Cross Country Teams traveled to Ogallala for the C-5 District Meet on Wednesday, Oct. 14, hoping to punch their ticket to the State Meet in Kearney on Oct. 23.
